Fear Not the Cloud: New Import Tool Eases Transition to Firm Manager

Calling all attorneys who are hesitant to move their firms to the cloud for fear of the long and dreaded data migration process ahead. We have one message to share—fear not the cloud.

LexisNexis just released a new version of its Firm Manager practice management software that now enables attorneys to take their law firms into the cloud-based solution in, drum roll please—less than an hour.

Yes that’s right, LexisNexis recently unveiled a new data import tool for Firm Manager that helps attorneys import all of their critical law firm data to the cloud-based software in under an hour.

The new Firm Manager data import tool alleviates the long and painstaking data migration process, which is often plagued by errors in source files.

It works by first importing clean data (e.g. information that is entered corrected at the outset). If there are any errors, attorneys are alerted and provided a downloadable CSV file with only these errors. The errors can be corrected and re-imported into Firm Manager.

The new data import tool can import all of the following data:

  • Contacts
  • Matters
  • Billing Codes
  • Opening Trust Balances
  • Time Entries
  • Expense Entries
  • Invoices
  • Matter Notes
  • Contact Notes
  • Tasks

Here’s an even easier way to think about it— if a firm can export their data from a CSV file, then Firm Manger can import it.

In addition to migrating important law firm data, Firm Manager also integrates with Google Calendar and Office 365. For those firms in need of more robust document management capabilities, Firm Manager also bulk imports entire folders and nested folders with one click and assigns all the documents included in those files to a matter. Firm Manager users can also send an email to a matter using a new email address.

This begs only one question, who’s ready to dive in, err, on the cloud?
