Accelerate 2019: Connecting firms with the tools for positive change

Every year, Accelerate brings marketing and business development experts in legal and professional services together to discuss industry trends and actionable growth strategies. This dynamic conference provides an opportunity to learn from, and network with, the very best in the industry.

This year, we took Accelerate on the road and headed to Nashville, where we focused on arming attendees with the tactical tools and communication chops necessary to drive change and impact growth.

Tangible ways to drive change and firm growth


We put our clients through a proverbial boot camp focused on deep-dive workshops that uncovered tactical solutions to some of their hardest change management and business development challenges. We asked our attendees to participate in fast-paced activities and honest conversations that nurtured an environment of peer learning and introspection.

In addition to these intensive workshops, there were multiple session topics that delivered tangible actions for clients to bring back to their firm. We highlighted some of our most notable change-makers with LexisNexis® InterAction® Impact Awards. Kiara Hughes from Miles Stockbridge won the Innovation in CRM category and Melissa Ly from Bennett Jones won in the End-User Adoption category. They both shared with the group how they were able to drive success within their own firms. We also heard from InterAction leaders how to build and support a comprehensive strategy, actionable steps to market with purpose delivered, and ways their peers have successfully executed key account management programs.


Communication that drives cross-firm collaboration

Driving change that results in firm growth is not just about tactics. To help implement the tools our attendees learned, we worked to provide effective, practical ways to communicate the positive impacts that change would have on their firms. Communication skills that facilitate cross-firm collaboration is a complicated muscle to grow. We brought in world-renowned communication experts, Vinh Giang and Brad Holst, to help our attendees start the necessary conversations with their attorneys and firm leaders.

Valuable connections with peers and InterAction team members

An essential part of Accelerate is facilitating connections and deepening engagement with attendees, both among peers and InterAction team members. From the way we deliver content to the networking receptions held both nights of the conference, everything was geared toward making connections, sharing ideas, and networking. Tour guides drove attendees through the city of Nashville, highlighting its rich history. After a day packed with workshops and content, we all had a great time touring the George Jones museum and line dancing in the honky-tonk.


Big things ahead for InterAction

Content Integration, Hybrid Cloud delivery, and InterAction for Office 365® were a few of the highlights that the InterAction product director shared with attendees. We could see how the InterAction Innovation Lab drives the evolution of InterAction and just how exciting and impactful these changes will be for our clients.
